Project Configuration

Before starting the project configuration in NewSysRS - Requirements for Jira you need first to create issue types for Specification and Requirement Artifacts and for Review and Reviewer items.

Note: Do not use required fields for the issue types used for Specifications, Requirement, Reviews annd Reviewers.

 

1. Specification settings

For specification settings user have to select the Specification issue type that is going to be used for specifications. Once the type is selected options for available attribute/fields for specification type will be loaded in the “Specification Type” select field. Once the attribute/field for “Specification type” is selected the user will be presented with all possible values for this field and if the user selects one the system will present the available attributes/fields for this specification type.

For Specifications:

  1. Issue type for Specifications

  2. Specification Type - single select field with values for different specification types

  3. Each available value of selected specification type will be presented and the user can select the attributes to be used for each type.

2. Requirements Settings

For Requirements settings user have to select the Requirements issue type that is going to be used for reqirements. Once the type is selected options for available attribute/fields for requirement type will be loaded in the “Requirement Type” select field. Once the attribute/field for “Requirement type” is selected the user will be presented with all possible values for this field and if the user selects one the system will present the available attributes/fields for this requirement type.

For Requirement:

  1. Issue type for Requirements

  2. Requirement Type - single select field with values for different specification types

  3. Each available value of selected requirement type will be presented and the user can select the attributes to be used for each type.

    1. For each requirement type you will be presented with option for type (Heading, Information or Requirement). Selecting this will define the preview of requirements in the specification.

      1. Heading type - Entries will show the summary Jira field as Primary Text and will have heading/section numbers calculated by the application

      2. Information type - Entries will show the description Jira field as Primary Text

      3. Requirement type - Entries will show the description Jira field as Primary Text

3. Review Settings
